At the D3 PharmaChemistry, we focus our research activities on two main lines: 1) Drug Discovery and Chemical Biology, and 2) Nanoregulatory Platform.
Drug Discovery and Chemical Biology
We have extensive experience in running drug discovery projects. Our goal is to discover small molecules with potential therapeutic application in different pathologies, including rare diseases such as cystic fibrosis. Starting from hit compounds, we expand the chemical classes by synthesizing and testing new analogues according to the typical Hit-to-Lead and Lead Optimization processes. Our objective is to obtain an optimized lead having excellent biological activity and suitable drug-like properties that ensure the developability of the compound at the Preclinical Development stage.
In the last few years, we have started applying chemical biology approaches to investigate the mechanism of action in cells of biologically active compounds.
Nanoregulatory Platform
Our mission is to assess the potential toxicities of nanomaterials, and small molecules, applying advanced 3D cell cultures and other in vitro models. More information is available here.
